Hens & Chicks Propagation

How to propagate Hens and Chicks – Sempervivum Tectorum

How to stimulate new growths on your Sempervivum Tectorum?

Housleeks are very beautiful and easy-care outdoor balcony plants. From one stem you can propagate for the whole balcony… The easiest way of propagation is explained step by step in the video below.

Hens and Chicks cleaning and planting steps:

Pull off all dry and rotten leaves – this will stimulate the houseleek to start propagating

Pick a stem and gently break it from the plant

Try to find a stem that already has roots

Place the stem in the soil with the roots down, and tamp the soil gently

You can also plant it by digging a shallow hole

Dig a shallow hole and put the stem gently

Tap the soil so that the plant touches the ground firmly.

After removing old leaves, it should be expected at least 10 new stems
